Trevlig Valborg :)

So, today is the famous Valborg when students would not go to class and just lounge in Stadspakken ALL DAY LONG and until the sun goes down, partying continues in various Nations.

Now if you think this is just a lazy day with truck load of alcohol then you are wrong. An enjoyable Valborg requires a lot of preparation. First you need to be aware of the opening hours of Systembolaget, because they are the only way you can get alcohol in Sweden and there are only 3 Systembolagets in the entire Lund. Second, not only you need to know the opening hours like the back of your hand, you also need to start stocking up alocohol two weeks before Valborg, if you want to get all the cheap but good alcohol that everyone afters. Or else, you will just be staring empty racks or expensive alternatives that your wallet is not too happy about on Valborg. Three, finding your friends in Stadsparken is no joke. People play music and merry people do talk louder than usual – especially if they are happy drunken Scandinavians… trying to locate your friend in Stadsparken on Valborg over the phone is almost mission impossible because believe me, people is everywhere… (and totally comparable to CNY night market at Victoria Park in Hong Kong) D, try drunk biking after drinking your arse off from Stadsparken to Delphi. I know I only wanted to puke. E, you need to be fast to secure tickets to Nations on Valborg night!!! Lastly, it is very very important that you are only merry but not so drunk that you get your friend killed.

Otherwise, it was a very very merry Valborg for me. Except I totally missed the bonfire at S:t Hansbackar in the evening… :(

Shameful

I was still positive about Hong Kong’s prospect until I read this two pieces of shocking news:

  • 「見鬼勿O嘴,潛水怕屈機」考生轟會考中文出潮語
  • Olympic torch protestors denied entry to Hong Kong
  • Is this a hint that I should seriously consider moving to somewhere else?

    Ciao bello!

After deciding my attempt of CADing the settlement on my Glumslöv project is fatal, I went home at around 8 and dropped by the Italian barbeque party just at H-huset. (So that I could also take a peek at how they could set up a fire in Sweden and be prepared for next week :))

Freshly made Gnocchi by Chiara! When I arrived, Giovanni and some other Italians were still trying to set up the fire. Thanks to Fabio, I was able to steal some pasta from the Italian dinner. And the gnocchi which was freshly made by Chiara was molto buoni! (Chiara was complaining because they were so popular that before she’s done cooking it, they were already all gone!) I have also tried some pasta salad, Lasagne, penne, etc made by Italians which… made me missed the Italian food in Melbourne… LOL Fabs is really mad every time I say that. But hey, they are also made by Italians!

I then went home to put down my big bag from the day. Just when I was about to finish the newest episode of Grey’s Anatomy, I got Peter’s text and said they were at the party. I then went downstairs to meet the guys which I haven’t seen for a long time! Well, except Konrad and Thierry which I have met umm… yesterday and on Monday respectively. I managed to steal a bratwurst and some potato salad from them ;P And after a while, Peter started to complain about the cold when he’s wearing a fleece and I only had a cotton cardigan and wearing sandals.

We finally moved it indoors as the cold become quite unbearable. We went to Johan’s place to watch Mr Brooks. Holy cow, he has a projector in his room so we could watch the movie as if we were in a cinema. My parents should have got one when I was little (Well, if they were widely available then.) so that I would not have got short sighted at all. While the movie normally would not be one of my choices, I quite like the ending of it and the actors all have done quite a good job.

And of course, I will never forget to say happy birthday to my dear Yuen Yuen! And it’s actually Loïc’s birthday too – Joyeux anniversaire!

    If I were a guy…

    Via Ngszehin:

    If I were a guy…

    1. I would be a gentleman.
    2. I wouldn’t have to worry about menstruation.
    3. I would have a skin head without thinking twice.
    4. I wouldn’t have attended a girls’ school…
    5. I would have become a metro-sexual.
    6. I wouldn’t have to worry mucking up my make up.
    7. I could be very popular among the opposite sex because I am quite good with languages.
    8. I would go backpacking alone more.
    9. I probably would still become a planner.
    10. I probably wouldn’t have learnt so many things but excel in just one or two.
    11. I wouldn’t have to worry about when to have a kid.
    12. I probably would have tons of relationship by now as I’m mostly the initiative one.

Actually I don’t really know, I think I have been living like a guy as far as I could be right now. Based on my personal characteristics, I believe I would be better off if I were a guy, but I can’t help love being a girl. Life is hard enough and there are just too many unnecessary social burdens being a guy.

    Caught fireworks in Lund!

I was resting comfortably after my 10-day trip to Spain and Morocco in my room. Suddenly I heard some abnormal sound coming from the outside and when I peeked outside, I saw this:

    Fireworks in Lund

Of course the scale is much smaller than those in Hong Kong or Melbourne. But I was surprised that they will have fireworks at all. It’s a town of 100,000 people and like 50 % of it is university students after all… But this is a much better experience of watching fireworks compare to the last time which I just walked by people shooting fireworks randomly on the street in Budapest…

    After Nodame Cantabile Specials…

I finally am done with the series – not that I am glad that it is over. But I was sooo pleased when I was able to find an avi version of the specials with Chinese subtitles!

I am certainly not very satisfy the dominance of Chiaki in the show but, I have a life, so that’s not really important. But here are a few things in my mind after I have watched the show:

  • Loving Miroirs – Alborado del Gracioso.
  • Rachmaninoff is genius and only genius can play his work.
  • I am reminded, once again, that I will never be able to play Mozart.
  • Or, in general, I am incapable in playing whatever on piano.
  • My oboe is screwed :( The G-key won’t come back up after pressing it!!!
  • Baguettes are delicious.
  • How is the Prague that I have been to completely different from the Prague that they filmed in?!
  • I am SOOOO going to Paris.
  • Once

The romantic movie I have loved most for that it didn’t end with happily ever after. Plus it reminded me about all the good times in Dublin :)
