Prada and KT Tunstall

The Devil Wears Prada makes me re-visit my love for KT Tunstall:

Silent Sea
I was happy in my harbour
When you cut me loose
Floating on an ocean
And confused
Winds are whipping waves up
Like sky scrapers
And the harded they hit me
The less I seem to bruis
Oh when I
Find the controls
I’ll go where I like
I’ll know where I want to be
But maybe for now
I’ll stay right here
On a silent sea
On a silent sea

Although Silent Sea wasn’t the one featured in the movie, I just thought I could share my most favourite song of hers. (That and the one they featured in the movie is stupidly NOT included in the original movie soundtrack anyway!!!

By the way, did I ever mention that I was the only one in the movie theatre when I was watching this? Yeah. It’s few months after its release, and it’s Monday and the session I went to start at 10:50 at night…

Oh right, I almost forgot to mention the KT Tunstall track that they’ve featured in the film is Suddenly I see.

Oh yes, DWP is an alright movie for a guy, but definitely is going to have much more impact on a girl. To make it short, it’s a chick-flick, but one of the better ones:

  • Meryl Streep is never to be missed.
  • Anne Hathaway has become so much better.
  • The cast ensemble on the whole did an awesome job, except Anna’s boyfriend in the movie, who really drives me nuts and really does not deserve her.
  • Emily Blunt’s British accent is lovely and very outstanding in an American film.
  • For no apparent reason, the character Nigel is very appealing to me.
  • The sets, costume, New York, Paris and… let’s just say everything, are oh-my-god so beautiful. (I may not care about how I dress, I still am a sucker for somewhat conventionally beautiful things; after all I am a girl, and a so-called freelance designer which sometimes has tweaked her design to suit the other’s tastes.)
  • Good one for relieving stress.
  • Soundtracks used in the film were well-chosen, especially love Vogue by Madonna when there’s the fashion montage after Andy’s make over.
  • The suite written for the movie is lovely, especially the 3rd movement. (yeah right, I am a big sucker for climax, like that’s going to surprise you…)

Slim down your PPC-based Mac for free!

I swear I am NOT bluffing.

But I was just wondering what MacAppADay is going to offer us today (as in starting from 8/12/2006 19:00 AEST for the first 5000 downloaders), and the thought of Xslimmer just popped out from no where. and BHAM – they are really offering it today!!!

Go get yourself a copy – I have seen its screencap before, its UI so beautiful!!!

But kind of useless in my opinion (as in, I won’t pay for it)… since Monolingual can also removing the Intel architectures of applications for my iBook G4 and it’s FREE.

    2006 is academically over!

Apart from the H1, Shaping is a huge disappointment – I was quite confident that I could nail it. But I told you, exams are never friends with me and I blame the magical disappearance of all my notes!!! Anyway, I should have done better in my exam. I am hating myself right now… why didn’t I backup my notes, why didn’t I do better in my final essay, why didn’t I do better in my first assignment… ah well :/

The other’s are much better than my expectation… especially PDM. Though I did well in my 2nd assignment, I still have no idea how on earth I could have scored over 80% in the exam with that crap…

DDM and Landscape – H3s. All I gotta say is, I did my best and I have no regrets. They aren’t even my majors and god knows how many hours (and money) I have spent on those assignments!!! By the way, I was expecting a pass, so I really have no complaints!!!

And most importantly… this sem’s average is above 70! So one more obstacle down to Lund!!! *Fingers crossed*

Attn Sarah: ever since you told me how people always say crap, I’ve been so conscious about it, even I don’t usually do it and the number of people I speak to can be count with two hands… it’s driving me nuts!
