Life @ Melbourne Uni

Ridley Girls' BasketballHaven’t really talk about my university life ever since I entered it… hmmm… yeah, it did take me a few weeks to re-adjust the rhythm, settle down with college, and set clear goals; apart from huge piles of work, I am really enjoying my life right now.

I am loving what I am studying right now, really, expect stupid mangement. Origins of Modern Urban Planning is fabulous, because I get to know works done by heaps of urban planners/architect/urban designer, prior to Canberra, although the tutorial is threatening and intimidating. City in History is awesome because I am going to do a presentation on MvRdV and a paper on industrial design. On top of that, Sam is great and I can pick up my drawings again :) I thought I am going to hate Global Politics but I do not - thanks to Miss Lee and Miss Chan for guiding me to write better essays while I was at St. Clare’s - my papers aren’t any incompetent when compared to the local students’; also, I get to learn more current affairs - it really makes me feel more connected to the world. Management is not fun at all, but I do not regret picking it - at least I know I am not going to spend a year on a master degree in management or take any management subjects in the future.

College life is so great that I wish I never have to leave. I get a room so big that I can do any kinds of stretching without any potential of smashing anything. I get to involve in lots of sports: hockey, basketball, and so on. Moreover, I have met a lot of talented, brilliant and friendly people: Charlotte, Gabs, Sowmiya, Julie, Christopher, Gawain, Amanda, Louise, Mega, Flick, Krystal, Crispy, and so on; and people from different places too: couples of Americans, Indians, Malaysians, etc. - you don’t have to be in International House to meet people from different places - I think Ridley do even better in that aspect, at least we really *KNOW* the people. Furthermore, we have great fun here - the Op Shop Ball, Desser for life, Mafia Week, countless ping pong games, foosball matches, pool, and movies in Jace, supper groups and the upcoming Christmas in October. Additionally, Joseph, our chef, feeds us with nice meals at 99% of the time.

Life in Melbourne maybe a little bit tougher than in Hong Kong, but I am really grateful that I am here :) oh yeh good news - I got a H1 (first class honour) for a test in OMUP and a H2A (second class honour level A) for a Global Politics paper.
